Labradorite is a feldspar mineral. It is most often found in mafic igneous rocks. The labradorescence is due to light entering the stone, striking a twinning surface, & reflecting light back from it. Different twinning surfaces produce different colors of light. It is found in Labrador, Canada & Madagascar.
